The end-of-the school year is upon us! Less than one week of school left here, but yet I am sitting huddled on the couch with a jacket on, under a blanket, and with the heater on while typing this post! It sure doesn't feel like May!

I usually make my daughters' teachers a special end-of-year gift, so I went back to some of my old posts for inspiration, and thought you might find some ideas too! (There are gifts for you as well!)

Two years ago, with my help, my oldest daughter painted 2 terracotta flower pots and I designed some big paper flowers using the papers in my Spring Song Kit

The flowers and are all attached to pencils simply by sliding the pencils through slits you cut! The centers of the flowers are embellished with traditional paper scrapbooking supplies - little flowers and buttons that I attached with glue dots - to cover up how I attached the pencil! I filled the pots with dried pinto beans, but you could use pebbles or marbles too! They just keep the pencil flowers standing upright.  (2 years later the preschool teachers still have these in the room! They keep them up on their desks and also keep pens in them, so they always have one handy. :)

And a closer look.... The little blue rectangle in the back holds a gift card and is attached to the pencil/stem with a ribbon and clip.

She also handed out these little "calling cards" so that we could be sure to meet up with her school friends this summer.

If you'd like to make some little calling cards for your own little cutie, here is my file as a png quickpage-type file.

Sorry, no preview, but it's just the above card repeated 6 times with an empty photo space and no writing on an 8.5"x11" page for easy printing. :) They would make handy thank you notes too!

One of my good old standby gifts is clipboards! I've already given it to all these teachers, so I have to think of something else for the end of the year gift though! Here's one of mine, made with all traditional scrapbooking supplies and Mod Podge.

Another great option for making your hybrid teacher gifts is my school-themed Kids At Play kit !

For teacher gifts, I made a few little notepads and decorated a small paint can using pieces from my Kids At Play products. The little smiley face one is made like a matchbook album. The picture isn't the best, but you can get the idea. To give the gift, we put all the little notepads inside the can. :)
