The third challenge for the Play With Your Pixel Challenge has been posted! If the thought of joining the Gotta Pixel creative team is something you're interested in, then now is the time! Everyone is welcome to participate, even if you missed challenge #1 & 2. But you need to hurry over -- the kit will only be available free for participa

This week's challenge involves using white space and you'll be using my Snuggle Up Page Kit! I'm so excited to see all the beautiful layouts that will be created!

I've had some excitement this weekend!

On the scrapbooking front I learned that a layout I submitted will be published along with a little article I just wrote up on my daughter's love of photography! The magazine will be out in February, and I'll be sure to point you all to it!

On the fabric front, I won a huge bundle of precut fabric from the Fat Quarter Shop! I can't wait to see which line I'll get!

The roll recipe I linked to in my last post -- delicious! The chicken turned out wonderfully too! I want to make a recipe layout for it, so I'll post it as soon as I do!

I still want to add a few more pieces into the kit before releasing it, but you can get a sneak preview be downloading my new tutorial over at Digitals!

Are you Mad for Plaid? I am! I just love the way all the colors play together and create a rich and intricate pattern! These papers can be used in so many ways -- a background for your layout, trimmed for photo mats or frames, cut into letters for a really fun title, or shaped into elements!

Catch these for only $1 each at Gotta Pixel, Tuesday only!

It occurred to me when I was redoing my blog banner that I promise recipes, but I rarely post any! So, that gave me the needed push to quickly scrap some of the recipes I just used this week with my Grandma's Apron Cookbook Quick Kit! Hope you enjoy them! Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
2 1/4 cups bread flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or Silpat mats. Melt the butter and mix with sugars, salt. Stir in the vanilla and eggs. Mix the baking soda and flour, then blend into wet mixture. Finally stir in the chocolate chips. Place rounded teaspoonfuls at least 1 inch apart from eachother on the sheet. Bake for 8 1/2 to 9 minutes, or until top is slightly golden. If dough has been chilled cook for 10 to 11 minutes.

Parmesan Baked Chicken, Broccoli & Rice

2 skinless boneless chicken breasts
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1 scant 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 egg
2 Tbls butter

1 stalk fresh broccoli

1 box Chicken & broccoli Rice-a-roni
1 Tbls butter
2 cups water

Preheat oven to 400 F. In a baking dish, melt the butter. In one bowl mix the flour, Parmesan and Italian seasoning. In another bowl beat an egg and mix in the garlic powder. Dip the chicken in the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Place the chicken in the dish and turn to coat both sides with butter. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden and cooked thoroughly.

Brown rice and vermicelli in butter over medium heat in large saucepan. Once golden, add water and seasoning. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

Boil or steam fresh broccoli.

This is my 4-year-old's favorite dinner! :)
