My big news is that I've made the tough decision to step away from Digital Candy. With 2 extremely active little ones and another one on the way, morning sickness that just doesn't want to end despite being halfway through this pregnancy, and desperately trying to finally settle in our new home, I admitted that I needed to let go of some commitments.

So, for my last few days in the Candy Shoppe, you can save 40% off all my products! Click here to go to my section of the store. Sale is on now and runs through October 31st. Also, if you purchase more than $7, be sure and add the Digital Candy October Mega kit into your cart! With the coupon code "megakit1007" it's free!

I released a new element pack and I just love it! My Autumn Bliss Silk Leaves coordinate perfectly with my last release, Autumn Bliss Paper Pack, and if you buy them together you can save even more. :) Their are a total of 18 leaves included and they measure a minimum of 4-1/2 inches tall, so you can just use one on a layout or resize and scatter them all over!

I'll post some big store and sale news tomorrow, so be sure and check back!

I forgot to tell you all about my latest release! I really enjoyed making my Autumn Bliss paper pack, and I hope you all enjoy using it! Pick it up at Gotta Pixel!

I also posted the latest round of the Gotta Be Quick Challenge! It's a fun and quick way to create a layout and get a free taste of Autumn Bliss!

I've got one more autumn release in progress, but it's looking like winter here today! If there's anything in particular you'd like to see me release as the chilly months approach, let me know!

I've got a new tutorial up at Everyday Digital Scrapbooking! All week long there will be tutorials on photorealistic elements, and for mine, I went through the steps of extracting a little crocheted flower from a photo to use as a scrapbooking element!

I finally got around to making a layout with the Everyday Digital Scrapbooking Birthday kit!
This layout with goofy pictures of my little girl is made with Sara Amarie's paper and cardboard flowers from the EDS Birthday kit and fun appliqued star by Amy Duquette (Digi-Mac Designs). I added in the glitter centers and created the slightly grungy photo frames.

I promised you a tutorial this week, so I'm going to show you how I quickly added the photo frames! It's a fun effect, and so easy in Photoshop!

* With your photo cropped and sized the way you want, right click on your photo layer in the layer palette and select Blending Options...

* Select Stroke (the last option) and increase the size. I chose 27 pixels for this layout, but you may want a different size depending on the size of your photos. Change the position to Inner. Change the color to Hue: 40, Saturation: 23%, Brightness: 94%. Fill type should be Color and blend mode Normal, Opacity 100%.

* Close the Blending Option window and right click on the "fx" icon on the right edge of your photo layer in the layer palette. Choose "Create Layer. This will make a new layer clipped to the photo from the stroke effect we just added to the photo.

* With the photo frame now it's own layer, we can add more effects to it! Right click on the new layer created from the stroke and select Blending Options...

* Add an Inner Stroke to add a bit more depth to the frame. Change the Blend Mode to Color Burn. Change the Opacity to 43%, Noise at 0% and color at Black (H:0 S:0 B:0). Technique should be set to Softer, Source: Edge, Choke: 0%, Size: 35px (this may vary depending on the width of your frame). Contour: Linear, Range: 50%, Jitter: 100%.

* Add a Pattern Overlay for more texture. Blend Mode: Color Burn, Opacity: 42%, Pattern: Clouds, Scale: 79%.

* Once you apply the Blending Options to the frame, you can go back and add your drop shadows to the original photo.

Hope you have fun adding these worn edges to you photos!
